This impressive National Law firm goes from strength to strength. Due to ambitious growth, they have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and commercially minded Business Development Manager to play a significant part in the delivery of their new BD strategy.

This pivotal role will see you devise and deliver a broad range of Marketing & Business Development (MBD) programmes and Client Development initiatives at a local and national level, ultimately enhancing the Firms market profile and attracting and retaining profitable business for the firm.

Key responsibilities:

Work closely with the Senior BD Manager, regional Partners and Directors to design and deliver innovative products and services that strengthen existing relationships and unlock new business opportunities across the local East Midlands marketplace.

Take responsibility for Marketing & BD support across a national sector / service line encouraging collaboration, innovation and client service delivery. 

Manage the firm’s work referrers relationships in the local market and attend local networking events, ensuring opportunities are identified and maximised.

Provide contribution to ensure all major pitches are effectively handled, coaching partners and lawyers involved in major business development activity.

Drive sector cross-sharing, client targeting and participate in key client programmes.

Create thought provoking marketing campaigns, events and client development activity: connecting clients to opportunities and engaging on headline agendas.

Support and coach partners through the business development cycle ensuring they have the appropriate tools to win work and advance relationships.

Support and manage BD pipelines including CRM updates and reporting.

The ideal candidate:

Must be able to demonstrate a broad mix of Marketing & Business Development skills gained within a Professional Services or corporate B2B environment.

Have an understanding of the East Midlands region including key industries, businesses and networking opportunities would be advantageous.

Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external clients and industry professionals.

Possess strong partner and senior stakeholder management and influencing skills.

Be able to communicate confidently and effectively at all levels.

Proficiency in CRM systems and digital tools.

Ideally some working knowledge of the Legal sector would be beneficial but not essential for interview.
