Bids & Proposals Team Leader

This highly reputable international law firm recognised for investing in its people, have a fantastic opportunity for an established senior bids professional to join their award-winning central bids team.

This varied and fast paced role will see you lead and develop team members, the bid pipeline, secure high value new business opportunities, help shape the firms’ bids and proposal content library to managing some really interesting new bid projects and technologies.

Key responsibilities:

Support, develop and grow the talented and experienced bids teams.

Develop the bid strategy for the function and hight value bids including win themes and value proposition.

Advise and challenge legal teams on the decision to respond to bid opportunities.

Scope the bid opportunity to understand clients’ needs ensuring all proposal material is relevant and responsive.

Working closely with the subject matter experts and relationship leads, manage the overall production of the bid.

Champion the firms bids process ensuring it is applied in practice.

Coaching, mentoring and Stakeholder management of lawyers to champion best practice and continually support adherence to industry-aligned processes.

Coordinate prestation rehearsals and offer advice and coaching on style, approach and key messaging.

Support post-bid / pitch follow up activity such as client debriefs.

Advise and lead on new bid projects and technologies.

Report monthly on key metrics to the leadership boards.

The ideal candidate:

Strategic experience of managing the end-to-end bid / tender management process.

Experience managing the bid pipeline – allocating resources appropriately

Strong and proven team management. The ability to share bids and proposals expertise within the team and with key stakeholders

Experience of working on both Public and Private Sector Tenders and Frameworks is essential. Healthcare Sector bidding expertise would be highly beneficial.

Sound commercial awareness and a good understanding of business development principles.

Experience of managing, influencing and gaining the confidence of senior stakeholders and colleagues.

Bid project management experience gained in a Professional Services environment – Law Firm / Accountancy Practice is essential for interview.
